Rava upma with peas



I make this upma many times as my husband carries it to work as lunch. He likes it a lot and so today I decided to take a picture so that I can share it with you all.
Ingredients:
1 cup roasted rava
2 to 2 1/2 cups water
5-6 curry leaves
2 green chillies chopped
1 onion chopped
1/2 cup green peas
1/2 cup cashew pieces
1/2 tsp sugar
salt to taste
1 tsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp mustard seeds and cumin seeds each
1/2 tsp hing
coriander leaves for garnish
oil for tempering

Method:
Heat oil in a non stick pan. Add mustard seeds,cumin seeds and hing.When they splutter, add curry leaves,green chillies and chopped onions. Saute for 2-3 mins. Add peas and cashews.then add salt,sugar and lemon juice.
Add 2 cups water and bring it to a rolling boil.Mix the rava in the pan and at this momemt and cover and steam for 3-4 mins. garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with a lemon wedge on the side.You can use fresh grated coconut as a garnish too.Enjoy!!!!

Good breakfast or lunch dish. Nice recipe never tried with lemon juice ... i add them for poha's, will try for upma. The smell of curry leaves when they hit the pan with hing is something i really love. Good picture.
